Dr Rembrandt Koppelaar
Research and innovation lead, BLUEPRINT to a Circular Economy
Rembrandt is an environmental economist with 15 years of experience in circular economy and energy sector decarbonization. He has a PhD in Energy Systems Modelling from Imperial College London, and an MSc in economics from Wageningen University. Since 2019 he has worked at EcoWise as Research and Innovation Lead on several research and consultancy projects related to a zero-carbon circular economy, city adaptation to climate change and natural hazards, and environmental assessment including carbon emissions monitoring. He has written two books on the energy transition to net zero carbon published by Wiley and Amsterdam University Press translated into four languages (English, Dutch, Chinese, German), authored over 20 academic papers, and is now working on a book on how to deliver a circular economy.
