After 34 years in local government with the last 13 in waste management I retired in 2021 to try new things. I've been on the APSE and LARAC Executive Boards during my council career. I've been a project director for major waste infrastructure and am very experienced in contracting and procurement. I've been a head of service for collections, disposal and recycling infrastructure. So I've got a good skillset to bring to whatever I did next. After a short stint as an independent waste management consultant I became LARAC's interim CEO tasked with creating a new staffing structure and recruiting the new team. And I will now be part of that team as their Head of External Affairs, to engage with Governments and key sector stakeholders and ensure that LARAC's voice is heard loudly and clearly on the issues and challenges facing our local council members.
