Waste to Energy Theatre

In the start of 2021, Sumitomo SHI FW (SFW) and WOIMA signed an agreement to deliver modular wasteWOIMA® waste-to-energy plants. SFW became a strategic investor in WOIMA, combining SFW's renowned expertise in power technology, project execution and global reach with WOIMA's innovative plant design.

WasteWOIMA® is a decentralized solution turning 30 to 200 ktpy of local non-recyclable waste into low-carbon energy for local communities. The decentralized WtE concept has many benefits. Waste is treated locally and energy is produced nearby consumers. The plant creates local jobs, is easier to integrate into the community, has higher public acceptance, and needs less capital and waste. wasteWOIMA® relies on well-proven WtE technology incorporated into a standardized modular plant design. This provides advantages of high reliability, competitive Capex and Opex, fast deployment and scalability.
