Creative campaigns can inspire and enable circularity in our everyday lives
Hubbub is a charity that inspires ways of living that are good for the environment. This talk will outline how the circular economy can be made easy, accessible, and more engaging for the public, using creative communications and engaging infrastructure. For example, COVID-19 has seen us all change the way we interact with each other. Never before have our phones and internet connectivity been such a lifeline. Yet, over 7 million people in the UK currently don’t have access to the internet, leaving them digitally excluded and struggling to connect with loved ones, employment opportunities and healthcare. At the same time, the UK creates the second highest level of electronic waste per capita in the world. Community Calling is taking on these two challenges by asking the UK to re-home some of the 28 million smartphones lying unused in homes.
