The World’s number one cleaning technology provider returning to RWM

RWM are no strangers to some of the biggest names in the industry. After experiencing great success at the UK’s largest Recycling and Waste Management Exhibition last year, Kärcher UK have decided to exhibit again, doubling their stand to give themselves more space to display new technologies.

Kärcher is the world's number one cleaning technology provider, and has a wealth of experience helping businesses worldwide to achieve outstanding cleaning results every day. From hospitals to factories, supermarkets to spas, the London Eye to Mount Rushmore, Kärcher has been trusted to clean them all.

A Kärcher spokesperson commented: “Karcher used the 2018 show as a test for 2019 as we have very exciting product launch by our municipal division planned, the 2018 show generated a high level of enquiries and introduced the Karcher municipal range of road sweepers to many new customers. With the new municipal sweeper launch ready for this year’s show, we are very confident of a high profile launch and successful RWM show.”

Make sure you visit them at stand Q80 in the Recyclers and Reprocessors zone for more information about their products.

Breakthrough for the Biogas Industry at New Gemidan Facility

With food waste substrate that is near 100% free from non-organic contamination, the new Gemidan facility in Frederikshavn, Denmark, produces a substrate for AD biogas plants that, in terms of plastic contamination, is at least three times freer from plastic than already very stringent Danish regulations require.

Rune Nyhuss, Director of Gemidan Group, commented: The benefits to the world biogas industry of this ‘ultra-pure’ pre-treatment technology are huge. As any AD operator will tell you, grit from feedstock is an ongoing burden to performance, maintenance and efficiency – with downtime a major headache. At Gemidan we have been perfecting our ECOGI technology for over 5 years – and this new facility in Frederikshavn will have far-reaching bottom-line gains, as well as conserving water and preventing plastics from polluting farmland”.

Gemidan are returning to RWM again this year, and Sales Director Tony Pickess said: “The opening of our second facility is a very exciting time for us and excellent timing as we fast approach RWM. During the past three years, we have had an encouraging response from numerous high-quality visitors, so hope to build on that at what is such an important platform for the recycling and waste industry”.

Make sure you visit Gemidan at Stand Q55 for more information!

The World’s First Zero Emissions Truck-Mounted Sweeper

Johnston Sweepers has introduced Europe’s first fully electrically-powered zero emissions truck-mounted sweeper.

The Johnston VE651, known as evie (Electric Vehicle/Intelligent Electronics), is a full-size truck sweeper mounted on a specially modified 16 tonne chassis, and driven by a high-performance 350kW electric motor, powered by a 200kWh Lithium Ion Phosphate battery-pack. Ideally suited for municipal use, evie is virtually noise-free, with the only sound coming from the airflow and the brushes on the road surface. A first production batch is currently being built in response to the huge interest in the machine from cities all over the world.

Clive Offley, Johnston’s Engineering Director commented: “The VE651 proves that it is possible to deliver a full-size 16 tonne sweeper capable of performing a full single shift operation with routine overnight charging, giving authorities the opportunity to make a real difference to air and noise pollution. Visit our stand Q22 in the handling and logistics zone for more information about our products and services.”
