PFD - what a success!

Plastic Free Day 2019 was a true success. Not only did we successfully manage to avoid single use plastic for a day (most of us did anyway) and learned a tremendous amount about our own plastic use. The thing we are most proud of is the engagement and conversation that was created throughout the day.

Through the use of the #RWMPlasticFreeDay we were able to reach 38,000 people organically throughout the day. Simply by engaging and being involved, we were able to collectively reach a huge amount of people and spread a hugely positive message. We hope that throughout the day everyone who took part was able to realise the small things they can do to make a huge impact in the long run!

We want to also thank everyone of our partners and exhibitors who took part. Showing solidarity on issues like this is the only way we will collectively find a solution, and we are happy that we had the opportunity to set a positive trend within the industry! We want to give a massive shout out to:

Plastic Oceans
Global Sustain
Zero Waste Week
Forest Bioenergy Review
Skip Hire & Waste Magazine
Recyclingtechnik GmbH
Greentech International
DMG Ecological Global
RES (Renewable Energy Systems)
AMCS Group
Enva Wood Recyclers (formerly Hadfield Wood Recyclers)

Sustainability West Midlands
CK International Ltd
Coral Products

Without the support of these names, the day wouldn’t be anywhere near as successful! The success of Plastic Free Day adds more fuel to the engine of RWM, and we want to encourage more conversations like the ones we facilitated between Sainsbury's and their customers. RWM seeks to be a leading light in the long struggle against waste, and by instilling a respect of quality materials and giving a platform to the suppliers of said materials is essential.

If you saw #RWMPlasticFreeDay being used, or saw the hubbub on your social media, and can supply quality materials, or solutions to single use plastic, then RWM wants to hear from you. With the interaction we had, there is a clear social shift towards better and environmentally sound products. Don't miss out, and let your ideas become a part of the solution.
